2 yrs today.....

Steve has been gone for 2 yrs today. I can hardly believe it and I still miss him. Steve had the ability to make me laugh NO MATTER WHAT! Love ya bro....

April-May Update

It has been a crazy busy few weeks!


I turned uh... 40 the end of April-- Everyone made it a great day fro me (THANKS) and so it was not as tramatic as I thought it would be. We went to eat and watched movies and I got some great gifts. I am ok with being 40. Mothers Day was a great day as well. My kids are so good to me! And so is my John! I went to a womans retreat the first weekend in May and it was great! Loved it! AND... I started grad school 2 weeks ago! so I am a bit overwhelmed right now!

Riley is done with High school baseball but now is playing on a competition team. I may go broke payin for it all. baseball is not cheap, but he is worth it!

Alex has been getting ready for graduation! can not believe it! He is excited and we are SOO proud of him. We will post pics of his special day! His grandma Page will be here on Tuesday to spend the week with us and go to his graduation.

Kev and Des are thinking of moving to SLC area. (I am kinda sad about that!) They are doing great and look so cute together.

John's back is not been doing well. He just had to go out on a short term disability for about a month in order for the muscle tear he just got last week to heal. He is such a trooper and just keeps trudging along.

Grandma and Cali are doing good. Grandma did have a lil fall last week but seems to be ok. Just slow goin....

KC our 14 yr old cat had to go spend the night at the kitty hospital after getting Kerosene "dumped?" on her. The vet did not think it was an accident. She had a rough few days but seems to be doing better now.

Freckles can hardly walk now and keeps falling down. I think her back legs are not working too well. She is 13 1/2 so I guess it is to be expected. She drinks TONZ of water too....

Gizzy--- Oh gees! I think she is into her terrible 2's! She chewed Rileys mit up last week!! So we just had to spend $90 on a new mit! dang puppy!

So this is the high lights of our last few weeks. :0) Even with all the "stuff" going on we realize we are sooo blessed!! God has his mighty hand in our lives and we are aware of his mighty power in our lives.

PS.... because my computer is MESSED UP it will not let me post pictures right now. SO... I will post them when I can. I gotta take my computer in to be fixed! :0(

HAPPY BIRTHDAY STEVE!!

Today would have been Steve's 41st birthday.... Steve passed away almost 2 yrs ago. I have spent much of today remembering our childhood and how we were so closely bonded. We went through hell together and stuck together through everything. My fondest memories of Steve have to be his sense of humor and his funny noises. Steve could make anyone laugh and feel at ease. Steve could also make some of the funniest noises and statements you have ever heard. Animals loved Steve! Especially cats! Our lil sister Jenny's cat "twinkle Suzie" LOVED Steve! I miss Steve sooo much it makes my heart hurt. I know he is free from the pain he was in for so many years though and that helps. IN HONOR OF STEVE PLEASE! TELL YOUR SIBLINGS AND FAMILY HOW MUCH YOU LOVE THEM TODAY! I LOVE YOU STEVE AND HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRO-- your lil sister.....lala

I GOT INTO GRAD SCHOOL!!!

So!!! It is official! I got into U of U Pasch Nurse Practioner program! The program starts this fall. I do have to take an upper division Physiology class this summer which I did not know about -- but thats ok ---- I AM IN!! :0) Thanks for all of your support while I continue to trudge through school!!

William comes to visit!

My brother Billy moved to Colorado last year and he came home to visit and so we had a big get together with all the family! Billy also introduced us to his girlfriend Chris. She is way nice! I did not take pictures of all the people that were in my house!! It is nice to have a home that we are all able to gather in! :0)

STUFFED FRENCH TOAST RECIPE

So... I decided to post the stuffed french toast recipe because everybody kept asking me what is was!

Stuffed French Toast
you will need to double this unless there is just a couple people

1 pkg of cream cheese (softened)
1/2 C strawberry yogurt
1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (divided)
4 thick slices of french bread
4 eggs
1/4 C milk
1 TBS butter or marg
1 C sliced fresh strawberries (sweetened to taste)

Mix cream cheese, yogurt, & 1/2 tsp vanilla till smooth. After making a horizontal slit in the thickly sliced french bread spread the mixture into the slit part.
Beat eggs, milk & remaining vanilla.
Dip the stuffed french bread into the batter and place in a hot skillet with melted butter. Fry them until golden brown on both sides.
To serve: top each with cream cheese mixture and fresh strawberries. ENJOY!
P.S. you can also use reg bread and spread the cream cheese mixture on one slice and place another slice on top ( like a sanwhich). Dip and cook as directed above.

Prom 2009

Alex and Jamie went to Prom yesterday. They ate at Texas Roadhouse & then went to Prom. After the dance they went to get milkshakes and came back to the house and watched a movie! Here are a few pics hopefully we will have a few more later...

We spent 5 hours today in VERY cold weather watching Rileys double header that was held in Preston idaho. Box Elder lost both games, but they played very well. Riley was excited to be able to pitch a few innings in each game. Riley also plays right field. Riley is worth sitting in the cold for! :0)

RILEY MADE THE TEAM!!!!

As you all know Riley LOVES baseball. The HighSchool baseball try outs were held last night.... And Riley went to school real early to see if his name was on the list and IT WAS!! He is very excited!! We are very proud of Riley and his willingness to keep trying over the years. Riley has had a mit in his hand since the first one his grandpa hoffman gave him at 2 yrs old!

Ice cream Sundaes with the Howard girls!!

Last week me, Alex, & Riley went to the Howards and had ice cream sundaes.... It was so fun to just relax and talk and of course eat ice cream!! Rachel and Esi were not able to make it which was a bummer though! We missed them!

Alex's boo boo!!

So Alex got a big boo boo last week after him, Riley and some other kids on the bus were hitting a pottery thing. (I have NO idea why they were doing this!!) We took Alex right to the Dr's office but his Dr was a bit reluctant to stitch it up in the office thinking it needed to be really looked at close for tendon damage and that they might possibly need to do sedation. So to the ER we went... Alex usually has bad anxiety but handled it VERY well!! THe ER doc was awesome and Alex left with 5 stitches! I left with $75.00 less than I walked in with!! Hopefully Alex learned his lesson!!

21 years and counting!!

JOHN AND I CELEBRATED OUR 21ST ANNIVERSARY LAST FRIDAY (I TOOK THE WHOLE WEEKEND OFF)! WE HAD SOO MUCH FUN JUST BEING TOGETHER! JOHN GAVE ME A DOZEN RED ROSES THAT ARE SO BEAUTIFUL. OUR SATURDAY SLC PLANS GOT CANCELLED DUE TO THE STORM BUT WE STILL HAD A GREAT VALENTINES DAY TOO. I AM STILL AMAZED WHENEVER I LOOK AT JOHN - HOW LUCKY I AM TO BE MARRIED TO A MAN WHO IS SO AWESOME AND SUPPORTIVE OF ME AND MY GOALS/DREAMS. JOHN IS SUCH AN AMAZING FATHER TO OUR KIDS AS WELL. I AM BEYOND BLESSED!!! I REALLY DID NOT TAKE PICTURES THIS WEEKEND. THAT IS GIZZY'S FAULT FOR CHEWING UP MY MEMORY CARD!! THE LIL' STINKER!!

Application Complete!!

UPDATE: I have officially applied for the Masters program/grad school (Psych APRN -which is same as a Psych Nurse Practioner). It is a great relief to have the application submitted. It is a long application/process.... Now I guess I can truly sit back and be a bum! (Well a bum who is still pretty busy!) I should know by the end of March. The program starts Fall 09. Last year they had 18 applicants and accepted 10. So, I guess it could go either way. There is only one Psych APRN program in Utah. So keep your fingers and toes crossed with me and say a lil prayer that I get in!!
